69 Services & Resources For ProBloggers

Today, I thought I would do something a little different – a big frickin’ list. :) Of links, that is.

What I’ve tossed together here is just a list of resources and services that you might want to check out for various demands of an online business. They are not in any particular order, nor are they all-inclusive. They just happen to be stuff I’ve come across or personally used myself (where noted).

If you find anything useful, rock on. So, here we go…

Awesome list that I will be coming back to as I start expanding my empire. Have you heard about FastSpring.com? They seem to have an excellent service. I talked to them and might be going with them instead of PayPal. I'm afraid of PayPal.

Nice. Thanks David! Do you use GoToWebinar for your members-only coaching calls?

Wow, what a list!!! I like this MailChimp, it has free option, excellent for begginers!

Definitely recommended for someone starting in list building marketing, and not enough cash to pay for Aweber or GetResponse.

Nice list! I wanted to add a few insights:

    1. I use GetResponse over Aweber because you can add your RSS feed to your optin campaign and your list automatically gets your posts via email. No feedburner or anything like that.

    2. If you want to run a membership site on WordPress you gotta check out the Wishlist Member plugin. (no link to stay above the fray)

    3. Another cool image site is PicApp.com. They let you “borrow” images from Getty et al for free. You just can’t modify them. They also have a WordPress plugin.

    Bookmarked and tweeted.

When I had a B2C list company I used to send my clients there leads via You Send It. Brilliant site.

I’d like to add CreateSpace (http://www.createspace.com) by Amazon.com and brick and mortar stores. It’s a self-publishing company that then puts your book listing on Amazon. The fees seem relatively cheap too as far a self-publishers go.

Cool! Thanks for this list of links.

Sometimes I spend way too much time on google looking for things lists in thos article. So it was really helpful.

    Thanks again!

Don't forget FastSpring for digital payment processing/shopping cart.

David, thanks for sharing all the links, wow, you truly saved me a lot of time!! Happy Holidays!!

Dave, you're amazing, txs. so much for your unbridled “giving-ness” — it's hugely appreciated.

An inspiring and successful 2010 to you.

Not familiar with FastSpring, no. The thing to keep in mind with Paypal is that they are practically an industry standard, which means most of your buyers will have it. If you put your buyers through an extra step with another service, they'll more likely skip it.

  • http://davidrisley.com David Risley

yes, I do. In 2010, I'll probably be using it for public webinars, too.

  • http://davidrisley.com David Risley

I've not used Mailchimp, but I know people who have. The consensus is that the company doesn't really get email marketing very well. They attract people with the free offer, and they have a good service, but don't forget to think ahead, too. Because the day you decide you want to move to something like Aweber, you risk losing much of your list in re-confirmations. You'd probably have to go with another company who allows list imports and no re-confirms.

Just to note, Aweber can also email RSS feed content to your list. It is called a blog broadcast in Aweber terminology, but it does it just fine.

That's two people who've mentioned FastSpring. I'll need to check it out. Never heard of it until today.

  • http://www.wakeupcloud.com/ Henri J

Yes sir, I completely agree. However, FastSpring offers payments via PayPal so that is taken care of. They also build your shopping cart for free (a custom one), which is pretty cool. Keep us updated on what you choose and how you use it, because I will be releasing my own stuff in the future so it doesn't hurt to know what works :)

Sweet! I've been using DimDim, but it really has no good way to handle
private meetings. Anybody could show up if they wanted to with little
    effort.

    Merry Christmas, Dave!

Great resource! Just joined the free version if clicktale. cant wait to see all the results, heatmaps and videos. cheers for this!

istockphoto.com is super. I used one of their photos on a book cover of mine.

Under books, I am surprised you didn't mention CreateSpace.com and Amazon.com company. If you know how to design the the covers and how to assemble the inside of a book and lay it out, you can self publish for free. But I'd by the pro plan for $39 because you earn so much money on your books, it is well worth it. Check it out.

Dave – I came across a tool (WP-plugin maybe) that allowed you to  record a teleconference then market it over-and-over as if it is live… (time slots, recorded real-time participation of other (original attendees).

Now I’ve forgotten the name of it and want to find it again — do you know what it is that I am referring to?
