In this video, I use my own blog as a case study on optimizing a blog’s opt-in rate. By this I mean turning more of your visitors into email subscribers.
A few guidelines that I recommend:
- Place your opt-in form above the fold.
- Use a provocative headline along with an “ethical bribe” such as a free report.
- Make sure the form is noticeable when you scan the page.
- Use multiple opt-in’s (below the post, for example).
- Use the Action Comments plug-in to convert commenters into subscribers.
