While trying to find a place to park at the mall today, something dawned on me. So, I pulled out my Flip Video…

There are two choices, as I see it:

  1. Watch the news, be sold the idea that everything is doom and gloom, and then react accordingly by reducing spending, worrying and being unhappy.
  2. Look around, realize little has changed, and get busy working to create your own success such that your own economy isn’t dependent on such things.

I think you know which choice I made. What about you?

On a related note, here’s a good reason to ignore the stock market.

    I think its sad that people let the news dictate how they approach life. Sure, plan ahead but don't let the emotions the are making the stock market go nuts run your life, its a pretty lousy way to live

    I agree with the fact that it is hyped up. However, I am losing my job due to the economy. And based on first hand research in talking to various people in my life, there is certainly something going on. Felt to different degrees depending on your situation.

    I went to Sonny’s BBQ two Sundays ago, and I saw absolutely no signs of a bad economy. The place was jam packed and there was a 30-minute wait. We ordered to go and had our food back at home in less time than it would have taken to get a table. I really can’t stand the way the media talks doom and gloom all the time, just because it sells newspapers and commercials. It makes me wonder how much of it is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
