Video Marketing Tips and Tricks

Video marketing is POWERFUL. In fact, you’ll be seeing me produce more videos. It works quite well – if you do it right.A couple of buddies of mine recently created a video to share some video marketing tricks. This is related to a brand new info product they just released called Video Marketing Rockstar. Without further ado, here is that video:

The really cool thing is that you do NOT have to be a professional video person to do this. As you can see, this video was filmed in St. Petersburg, FL with a Flip Video camera. It works just fine. It is the tactics you use which is more important than the camera you film with or the editing software you use.

So, get out there and sell some stuff using video!

Thanks for sharing those tips. I just wrote an article on how to get multiple top rankings in Google and Video Marketing sure got a lot to do with that. I have introduced this concept to my readers and your tips are an excellent additional resource for them so I referred your post to them, you should get my trackback soon!

Good content? Gee, David, this has to be the worse of all your posts. This video is too long for its “content”. The “trying hard to be cool” cap, the Blair Witch Project shakiness, all tolerable if not for the fact that there is nothing of “content” for readers of your outstanding blog.

That Myspace comment tip is pretty useless. That is borderline spamming and unless your target market is pre-teens you will likely not see any increase in sales. Further proof of this is the fact that David doesn’t even have a Myspace.

Interesting video, a few good tips in there. Just a tip for the guy behind the camera (if he ever reads that), it’s shaking too much. :P

I think there’s a few valuable lessons to be learned from this post and the comments made so far.

    1. Ryan isn’t “trying to be cool.” Less than a year ago the guy didn’t know what video marketing was. He just has taken Massive Action. This is the guy in real life. If you’ve never met him it may be hard to believe but this is who the guy really is. If this is your first experience of the guy I may understand but the guy knows his video marketing.

    2. What is deemed valuable content? Well in a few peoples eyes this may not seem like valuable content but to others it’s inspiring to see that Ryan can make money sharing even with what you call bad content.

Ryan is being real and there is a market for the way he does video marketing. He’s a very cool guy willing to share his knowledge freely as he’s done it with me personally.

Ryan and I probably run in some different social circles but he and I get that just being cool friends and sharing value with one another “does” run in the same circle.

    3. Zen could you please put up a link to some of your videos? I like to see some of your work. :-)

    4. Yes Zen I agree David does have a spectacular blog with great content. This is just a different kind of content that shows that you don’t have to be perfect but you do have to just take action. Here’s to Ryan for doing just that.

Toni, I don’t know you, but I definitely respect your attitude! I don’t know David, so I can’t judge or comment like you do, but I absolutely agree with the philosophy behind your comment.

Thanks Nicolas! I know both David and Ryan personally. We all 3 come from 3 different types of back grounds and have pretty diverse social networks. But the one thing I DO know is we all 3 have a high level of respect for one another regardless we’re all 3 at different levels of experiences and niches!

    Thank you!

Like you said Tony, it’s easy to criticize the work of others, but at least they did some work. I’m more interested in people who comment to bring additional value to the discussion or post, not to bring it down.

I’m working full time in the industry too, and I know that it’s not always easy. But no matter how simple some of the tips you provide can be, they will be helpful to some people who don’t have that knowledge, for others, nobody forces them to comment.

Like you said, show me your work first, then talk later.

Maybe it has to do with my being a late bloomer in terms of incorporating video content, but there are plenty of people out there like me who will get what we need from this post — pretty concise and highly relevant information. Granted, I don’t know about the whole MySpace idea, but as for the rest, thanks for the break down.

You will need a catchy title for your videos in this way you can attract more people to view your vids

Thanks.. This is very insightful. And I agree with Tony that what appeals to some may not work with others..
Videos are the closest that we can get to direct communication online. I came across an article about successful marketing campaigns on youtube: http://blog.socialmaximizer.com/youtube-busines…
