I missed the opening ceremonies for the Olympics in Beijing and I wanted to watch them online. Searching around, it took quite a while for me to find them. Perhaps I’m just dumb, but I imagine I’m not alone.
So, if you want to watch the replay of the opening ceremony, you need to go to the Great Hits section for videos at NBC’s Olympics site. The opening ceremony is in 4 different parts which you can stream online.
Interestingly, the site is using Microsoft Silverlight rather than Flash (at least on the Mac). So, you’ll need to install the Silverlight plug-in. You will be prompted to do so.
It is definitely worth watching. It is a most awe-inspiring show. Really amazing.

I think that mental strength is necessary to have an impactful presence in the business world. Especially when you consider the current scenario, where market position quite dicey. Am sure, you know what can happen next, but if you don have the strength to face it, be prepared for facing the wrath of the situation…

Loved to read your blog. I would like to suggest you that traffic show most people read blogs on Mondays. So it should encourage bloggers to write new write ups over the weekend primarily.

I also missed the opening ceremonies… because I was attending a live, free, outdoor concert of Shawn Mullins (here in GA). I have been trying to figure out how to see the events; so was excited to see your post. However, I couldn’t connect by clicking on the link on your post. Any ideas?
The link to watch the events does work – are you using the top link? http://www.nbcolympics.com/liveextra/
That link doesn’t work. Any suggestions?
the link to watch the opening ceremonies was part of the original post – which was for the 2008 Olympics. The newest link to watch the 2012 Olympic events is working properly. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like anyone has a copy of the opening cermonies online – the ones you do find are completely pixelated.
Where is this new link? I don’t see it.
The new link for this year is NOT to view the opening ceremonies. Every uploaded video I’ve seen has been pixelated so it’s just not viewable at all. The link David provides is for watching the actual events – http://www.nbcolympics.com/liveextra/
