Forget This One Thing, And Your Membership Site Will Fail

We know that continuity income is a great idea. And we know that membership sites are a great way to do it.

But, this leads into the next natural step here: Determining what exactly to do inside your membership site.

After talking with a lot of people via email, via consulting calls, via Academy mastermind calls… I see that membership sites are on people’s minds. But, the “why” for it usually goes something like this…

Recurring Income: Why You Need (And Want) This For Your Business

Answer me this…

Which do you think is easier?

  1. Selling a single thing, over and over again, all to different people? Or…
  2. Selling something once and the same person pays you over and over again?

It should be obvious, but the second option is much better for your business.

That is called “continuity income”. Continuity simply means that the payments come in on a continuous basis.

How Pinterest Exposed The Problem With Internet Marketing Training

The online marketing space is a funny place. And the story of the rise of Pinterest marketing courses lay it bare for all to see.

It is the ultimate demonstration of the shiny object syndrome which this market creates for people.

And it leads a lot of people – many whom are probably still trying to make their first buck online – to flock to Pinterest thinking that it is the next big thing, the meal ticket, the next trend, the latest tactic.

The #1 Lesson of Blog Monetization (And Internet Business) Which Almost Everybody Gets Wrong

What you’re about to read is important. If you want to have a successful business – online or offline – then do not simply scan this article and move on in a fit of ADD. Understand it fully and apply it.

I don’t say this to float my own boat. Not at all. I say it because… it needs to be said. We need to come back to business basics. And most people in the online business world gloss over the importance of it. Here we go…

Where Should You Spend Your Time When Expanding Your Blog and Business?

Do you spend your time tweeting, sharing, liking and pinning? All the “social media gurus” will tell you how important it is. But, then you’re sitting there looking at your old dusty blog and see that not much is happening. Traffic isn’t much to speak of. You have no time to create offers or products. You don’t have anything to build your list with. In fact, your email list building remains on your “Things I know I should do but don’t have the time” list.

Oh, but TWEETING… that shit is important!

Or so they’ll tell you.

Applying A Lesson From Apple To My Business

I don’t think anybody will contest that Apple is freakin’ awesome at marketing.

They are masters of the product launch. They have fostered a community who falls all over themselves to speculate on what the next product release will be, who will put their work days on pause to watch a “live blog” of a product launch, and who will stand in line in order to pay them large sums of money for hardware they likely don’t even need.

The “Third Rail” of Internet Marketing And Blogging… That Few Tackle Head On

If I asked you what the #1 problem is for you when it comes to your blog or internet business, what would you say?

Now, obviously everybody reading this will have their own answer. But, odds are, I can guess. 🙂 I’ve been helping bloggers online for 4 years now – was a tech blogger for 10 years before that – so I have a pretty good feeling that I can peg it for a good majority of you.

And that problem is…

How To (Expertly) Use Evernote To Be A Better Blogger

I have been a heavy user of Evernote for over a year now. Today, I use Evernote as a digital extension of my own brain. I also use it as a digital filing system, complete with a scanner.

Many people I talk to, however, are still in that stage of wondering exactly what to do with Evernote. In some ways, it seems as if Evernote is a little like the initial days of using Twitter. We all go through that stage of wondering exactly what the hell to do with it. Then, if you persist, something eventually “clicks” and you “get it”.

The Reason Why You Work All Day And Nothing Gets Done

The day is young and you have big plans.

Today, you’re going to be productive. You’re going to make the world your biatch.

By lunch, you realize that things have been a little delayed. But, you’ve still got a shot. So, after lunch, you’re really going to buckle down. This time you mean it.

Except, by the end of the day, you’re feeling a little disappointed in yourself. Because, once again…

Why I Use And Recommend Gravity Forms For Wordpress

There is a plug-in that I have installed on every single site that I operate. And that plug-in is Gravity Forms.

In a nutshell, this plug-in will allow you to make web forms on your blog. At first glance, it seems a bit boring and unrelated. The only form you think you might want is a contact form – and there are several free contact form plug-ins out there already.

But, let me tell you a little about Gravity Forms…

Why I Recommend OptimizePress (Pros and Cons)

Continuing on my product reviews, today I want to discuss OptimizePress. I’ve made no secret of the fact that I strongly recommend this theme. But, why?

It is because I use it personally on several different sites. It is because the cost compared to the multiple uses of this theme make it one HELL of a buy.

So, first… the video. Then, I’ll lay it out – pros and cons.

Why I Use And Recommend Aweber Over Other Solutions (Including Mailchimp)

OK, news alert: I recommend Aweber.

Of course, that’s not news. I’ve been recommending Aweber for years now, and so do many others.

But, why? Is it just because they have an affiliate program? I know people have thrown that claim out there, especially with the likes of Mailchimp around. Mailchimp offers a free account, so obviously many bloggers prefer to use that and often wonder why people like me continue to recommend Aweber.
