Hi everyone,
I also have a membership website and I want that my members discuss each other, but I don’t really know how to create this. And I love the community/discuss forum on this site. So does somebody know with what plugins and how to create a forum like this?
Thanks in advance 🙂
Best regards
Flavio

This is all done with BuddyBoss. The actual platform is free, but the theme behind it is not. You can check out my review here for more:

If you’re referring to the way it looks, that’s the BuddyBoss theme itself. Which is the paid product they have. The core Buddyboss software is free, but then you’d have to theme it yourself.

Hope you don’t mind me jumping in David,
Flavio, David uses wpfusion for memberships on this site. he has an amazing blog post about it here along with a video https://www.blogmarketingacademy.com/membership-site-plugin-wp-fusion/

Hello, thank you for your message. I didn’t see the post. I only saw the post where he said that he put everything together on site. But I was confused that there was no “officially known” membership plug-in in there and I googled for WP Fusion but didn’t understand it. Now after reading I really don’t know if this the right plug-in for me.
I want to create a community platform (also with buddyboss) and a forum about fascination with cars and the users don’t have to pay with money, no they get points with the plug-in MyCRED and can “pay” things. Do you maybe know what’s the right plug-in for me?
Best regards and thank you really much

There are always multiple ways to do things. WP Fusion is not positioned as a membership plugin because it is far more than that.
WPFusion is a FULL integration with your CRM, meaning you can control everything on the site based on what tags a person has on their profile when they log in.
Now, here’s the thing…
If you don’t have any requirements beyond simply requiring them to have a profile before logging in, then Buddyboss can do that all by itself. No other plugin needed. There’s a checkbox in the options to simply require people to be logged in to access anything. But, I mean… anything. Even your homepage. So, it would only be suitable if you’re not also using the Buddyboss site for public blog posts and things like that.
Otherwise, you’ll need some kind of membership. But, sounds like your needs are simplistic. So, I don’t think I’d recommend WP Fusion to you. It will do what you need, but sounds like it’d be overkill.

First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to answer me. Many thanks for the help. So my plan is that it doesn’t cost any money, but that users collect points for certain interactions and also for their activities on the website. Furthermore, they are also rewarded if they have been members for a long time. As far as I know, you can only pay with points with the myCRED plugin. Should I then use WooCommerce Memberships, or at least WPFusion, after all, users shouldn’t spend real money, but only with points they collect. Sorry for asking so much, but I feel a little overwhelmed with which plugin is best.

I would just stick with Buddyboss until the need obviously arises for something more. BuddyBoss has the ability to restrict everything to logged-in users and you don’t need a membership plugin for that. Doesn’t sound like you’re going to have different permissions or anything. It is one size fits all.
So, just set up Buddyboss and put in Gamipress or MyCred and start building. And don’t buy WP Fusion. I kinda doubt you’ll need it or any other special memebrship plugin. But, if the need does arise, then you can make a move then.

Hi! Now I also have a need to create a forum on the site I’m working on: https://www.worktime.com/employee-time-tracking-software. Didn’t know there are themes in BuddyBoss it solves a lot. Will try.
