Trying multiple niches?

So just started the course, had a question.
When we went thru the “Who can you help” list, I think there were 4-5 points, what am I passionate about, who I could help with because of current knowledge etc.
When we are in the research phase, can we try out different audiences? For me, I’m thinking between passion vs business/practical
So, the passion part is self help/meditation/self growth. But like the video says, it can be very wooly and “rah rah, be inspired!”. I am still trying to find a proper transformation, but it is a subject close to my heart.
In the day job, Im a programmer, so a more practical niche would be something like helping programmers move into the next stage of their career, increase their salary or start a side project etc. The pains/transformation here is slightly easier to describe, but I dont particularly feel excited by it. That said, building a business is MORE important to me than feeling goody-good, so I might just go ahead this way.
But when Im trying out my ideas, is it worth doing both the ideas in parallel, and then dropping the one that doesnt work?

You can, however since you can’t even come up with a transformation for the self-help one, I wouldn’t bother with it.
The big thing, too, is that you need a USP for anything you do here, and if you’re splitting yourself up trying to do too much at once, you’re not likely approaching it with the intention to see it through.
