There are a lot of people who find themselves in this situation. Perhaps you do as well.
You know the potential of this type of business. You've seen the people out there doing it. You want it, too.
You also have a desire to help others. You really want to have that impact.
But, how do you proceed if you have little more than an idea?
Some people will just take a guess that it'll work and sail directly into starting up their blog. Buy that domain, set up Wordpress, and start blogging as best they can and hope the world notices.
The other group will get stuck in an endless loop of "what if's". They'll analyze and research until they're blue in the face, never really getting off the ground.
After 19 years of running online businesses and teaching others to do the same, I can tell you without any doubt that there is most definitely a better way.
First off, let me dispel a misconception...
That's right. If you're in the beginning phases, please do NOT start up your blog yet.
If you already have a blog and are just not sure how to begin the business part of it yet, well, that's fine. I'm going to encourage you to stop blogging temporarily.
I know this is quite counter-intuitive, but that's why it works so well.
Blogs come with some "baggage". They can take some work. So, why do all that is necessary to start one when you don't even know if the idea is any good yet?
There is a very real chance of wasting your time if you do it that way.
... or you could end up starting up a blog which will prove difficult to monetize later. I've seen my share of them.
No, what makes much more sense is to prove the concept - to prove the business model - before you do any real blogging,
And trust me, it can most certainly be done.
But, this brings me to my next point...
In those beginning phases, it does feel like a lot of things are based on your gut feeling.
Will people care? Do they want what I'm providing? Is your idea going to work or end up being a waste of time?
And a lot of "paralysis by analysis" can result from this. Especially if you have a real visceral fear of failure, as many do.
But, all that is completely unnecessary.
By taking a series of specific baby steps and making small tests along the way, we can prove our ideas before going "all in". And we're talking about hard numbers. Real math. Either the numbers work or they don't.
If the tests show all positive signs, we move onto the next step.
If not, we make adjustments and re-test.
Through this process, we are proving our concept and/or making adjustments to how it is presented until the tests pass.
Then, and only then, do we move full steam ahead with the blog and everything that entails.
The Business Building Bootcamp was a live workshop series I delivered to my members. But, it was all recorded and you now have the opportunity to grab this training at an incredible price without the need to get a full membership.
