Emailing every day? When the HELL?

This is my first daily email… tentatively called the Academy Daily.

Now, honestly, right now “daily” is the goal. I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep it up long term. I’m certainly going to try.

But, it does beg the question…

Well, the first question is…. AM I NUTS? 🙂

Well, maybe. But, a couple of things come to mind here…

First, the best way to get really good at something is to do it a lot. In this case, the best way to get really good at writing, or writing email copy, is to do it a lot. What better way than to do it every day?

It is like the musician who practices every single day. It might not always be sexy. But, it is they who will get best at it. It is their albums people may eventually buy. It is they who we will marvel at when we see their talents on social media. They might have had the spark of initial talent, but they worked hard to perfect that skill that we all marvel at.

Of course, I’ve been writing and blogging for multiple years now. It isn’t as if I’m new to this. But, doing it this often and via email certainly is new. And I anticipate it will bring on a lot of cool benefits. Things like getting to know you guys really well. Increasing engagement. Things like that.

But, there’s also a basic rule of business. And it is this…

The more you communicate out, the more the world gives back. Outflow equals inflow.

In other words, the more you communicate to your audience and the more “top of mind” you are, the more your business will grow and the more money you have the potential to make.

This is why when I see business owners deal with budget constraints by cutting their ad and promo budget, I shake my head. That’s the wrong thing to do! You want to promote MORE!

We all know email marketing works. It will always work.

But, when done right, it also allows you to build a connection with your readers that you could simply never do with a blog. And it helps you remain “top of mind”. You become a routine staple of their daily lives. They come to expect to see you there. They look forward to it.

So, that’s kinda why I’m willing to give this experiment a try. 🙂

I’m glad you’re here.

We’ll learn together. 🙂

This Academy Daily email may end up evolving into a big thing for the Blog Marketing Academy. I kinda hope it does. 🙂

I might end up playing with formatting for it, too. Not sure yet.

But, also let’s remember…

It isn’t as if you are here just to watch me go through my little experiments. 🙂 You’re also here for YOU. You want these things to be useful, entertaining and enlightening for YOU.

Hell, I’d expect the same if I gave somebody permission to email me every day.

So, to that end, this whole thing is a 2-way street. You can get in touch with me anytime, ask me to address something, ask a question, etc. I mean, this Daily email is never going to replace the level of interaction we have inside The Lab, but you can still make requests and let me know what you’d like to see around here. 🙂

You can do that in two ways:

  1. Hit reply on any of the Daily emails.
  2. Smack this link and ask me right inside Facebook Messenger.

One more little logistical item I’ll mention here….

At the bottom of every one of these Daily emails, you’ll have a link to allow you to opt out of the Dailies. If you just get tired of me, it will give you the option to go back to the usual newsletter (which is only once or twice per week) without having to leave the list completely.

Cool?

Awesome.

See ya tomorrow. 🙂
