Your Site

Your Exit Plan (Just in Case)

You're never stuck with me. How your site can move, with my help or without it.

Let me say something I genuinely believe: your website is yours. Always. One of my core principles is digital sovereignty. You should never feel locked in, and you should never feel like hosting your site with me is a risky bet.

If You Decide To Leave

All Concierge plans are month-to-month, and you can cancel anytime. If you do:

  • Your hosting, email delivery and plugin licenses stay active until the end of your billing period.
  • If your site is on Concierge Cloud, I’ll migrate it to any host you choose, at no cost.
  • Premium plugins licensed through Concierge have their licenses deactivated, but stay in place so nothing breaks. From there, it’s up to you to get your own licenses for continued updates, or switch to something else.
  • You keep full ownership of your website at all times. You can also ask for full access to your hosting environment anytime… you don’t need to be leaving to ask.

If Something Happened To Me

This part applies if your site is hosted on Concierge Cloud.

It’s a fair question to ask… what happens if I suddenly disappeared? Is your site stuck?

No. Here’s your break-the-glass plan. If I ever became unreachable, this is how you’d take your site elsewhere on your own, without needing my approval or involvement. You’ll almost certainly never need it. But knowing the door is unlocked is the whole point.

There are two pieces: your DNS (what points your domain at your site) and your site itself. You control both.

1. Take Back Your DNS

If I’m managing your domain’s DNS through Cloudflare, here’s how you take full control: log into your domain registrar (the company where you registered the domain) and change your nameservers away from mine, over to your own DNS provider. Your new host can give you the exact settings. Once your nameservers point somewhere I don’t control, your DNS is fully back in your hands.

2. Move Your Site

Two easy ways, and neither needs me:

  • Migrate Guru. A free WordPress plugin that copies your entire site to any host you choose. Install it, point it at the new host, and it handles the move. No technical heavy lifting.
  • Free migration from your new host. Nearly every web host will migrate your site for you, free, when you sign up. Just ask them… they do this all day long.

Either way, your complete site moves off my servers and onto hosting you control.

That’s the whole plan. You don’t need my permission, my cooperation or even my presence to do any of this. Your site, your domain, your call. And obviously, if I’m around and you’d like a hand, I’m glad to help.
